In 1981, Ralph Delia Jr. started Wood Grain Designs in the basement of his house on Norwood Avenue in Long Branch, New Jersey. As the business grew along with the scope of the jobs, Ralph moved to a larger shop and began full-time work in the cabinetry industry. In 2007, his son Kevin came on in a part-time role to help with building and installations. Then in 2018, after 37 years, Ralph retired and closed the doors. However, after a few years away from building, the urge to get back into the industry drove Kevin to convince his dad to reopen Wood Grain Designs. We are so excited to be back up and running!

This beautiful piece took the place of an old butler’s pantry cabinet in this house in Holmdel. The brass hardware and the seeded glass really make this unit stand out and give this that awesome classic look. There is a matching sink cabinet to go along (not pictured). Thanks to Mario @prestigecustombuildersnj for bringing us in to help out his customer.

I haven’t posted much lately, not because we’re not busy, quite the contrary. We had an opportunity to do both the master bathroom and master closet at this project in Monmouth County. We did a white oak vanity with a painted maple linen closet in the bathroom. In the closet the customer went with a darker grey in our melamine product line. One of our favorite customers asked us to build a custom English style bar and back bar. They asked and they received! We went with red oak, brass foot rail and Chicago style bar rail. The back bar has space for 2 refrigerator units and plenty of storage. All finished with a beautiful stain and clear coat by the best finisher in the area, Gio’s Painting. Great job all around from the design and build to the installation. Cheers to all that are privileged to a tall pint here! What do you get with great material and perfect installation? A phenomenal looking garage. We were asked to outfit this house in Ocean County with large deep garage cabinets. As usual our installers went above and beyond with their skills and helped add and move items to these garage bays for the customer. The finished project always looks great because our installers and a material line that is second to none. Our customer in Colts Neck asked us to rebuild their mantle and wall units that were only a few years old. They wanted more detail and features that stood out. Well, we delivered! Rift-cut white oak mantle along with the tall arched open bookshelves in matching finish. To add even more detail, we used beaded tambour to the door panels. This old school basement gym gets an updated floor

This old school basement gym gets an updated floor. Our customer in Ocean wanted new flooring for their gym. The rubber mats that were there were damaging the concrete slab. They wanted epoxy but didn’t want to deal with the smell or a couple days without the the use of the gym. Enter SwissTrax! This floor holds up to tons of weight, is water proof and allows the floor to breathe. Here we went with black vinyl trax and did the center section with carbon fiber vinyl trax for more grip.

Last month, we finished up this giant job in Monmouth County with a large walk-in closet, laundry and pantry. We also installed 8 other closets! Huge thanks to my installers for all the work. We just finished up this amazing job in Ocean. We did all of this in melamine to keep the cost down. As a custom wood project this would have been really expensive. Neither room had a traditional closet so we had to create the space while working with the roof angles. The first room got a giant built-in with hanging and drawers. The other room got a standalone wardrobe, a recessed dresser and a giant desk. Here’s a nice garage job we finished up this wee

Here’s a nice garage job we finished up this week in Atlantic Highlands. We got to install one of our newest products, Swisstrax Garage Flooring. This interlocking floor was installed in less than a day, no messy epoxy or harsh chemicals. The customer went with island blue for the inset and jet black on the surrounding tiles.This floor will outlive this home! We also added some cabinets and slatwall for getting all their stuff off the floor.
Now they can pull the car in the garage.

Here’s a giant melamine closet job we completed

Here’s a giant melamine closet job we completed last week in Manalapan.
All this closet had was a single wire shelf on each wall!!! This huge walk-in got a complete makeover with glass doors, tons of shoe shelves and way more hanging space.

We installed this beautiful office cabinet in Barnegat a few weeks ago. We removed an existing closet to get this 10 foot unit to fit!

Another Murphy Bed with a desk! We’ve had a bunch of customers ask for us to make a room in their home multipurpose. They need a spot to do work and accommodate guests for their stay. Our bed folds down without having to put the desk away or even take things off. Super simple design and easy to use.

Awesome mudroom project we finished up this week. Our longtime customer needed more storage and everything behind doors. Not only did we hide all those shoes, but there was still room left over for the vacuum and hockey sticks!

If you have a dark and outdated closet that you want rid of call me! This closet not only made this closet feel small but at only a few years old was delaminating!!! Our plan was to brighten it up, make it way more functional and provide the customer with a product that she will never have to worry about falling apart.
